Dartford Crossing
|
No more toll booths from tomorrow and an extra 50p per trip for a car. Pay online or by text or get fined, unless you drive a foreign plated vehicle of course, you can cross for free.
A wonderful cash cow for the Government.....

You can now set up an account so that it's £1.67 to cross instead of £2.50 if you pay as you go.
If you want it free the cross after 22.00 or before 06.00.

If you need to get to Dartford for free just drive the other way around the M25 using stolen fuel.

Always nice that a bridge paid for many, many times over by UK tax payers is now in the hands of a French company that's going to fleece UK residents even more, plus with everyone having to deposit funds in advance in the main, they'll be sitting on £'millions of our cash earning them interest.

Great idea. Crossing fee gone down from £2.00 to £1.67. Auto top up a/c means forget about payments, 2 cars covered, no more searching for coins just to go to Bluewater. Hopefully not so many traffic jams. Suits me.

If it frees up the traffic from the nightmare it usually is, so be it. Does indeed piss me off that we were told once it was paid for that would be it. Sadly, all politicians and bureaucrats are liars... But to have to pay the French for power, water and roads? WTF have our governments done to us?

Kirok the politicians wrested our utilities from us, sold portions back to us, then allowed a system whereby foreign investors could become the majority, and often complete, owners of these undertakings.
It's the Infidel scenario of the free market purists.

Wasn't it meant to be free once it was all paid for. The amount of money it's made we could have built a bridge to Mars.
